In Reference 1, NMC made the following commitments:
- 1. Until all Alloy 600/82/182 Pressurizer butt welds are either mitigated or replaced, all Alloy 600/82/182 Pressurizer butt welds will be examined per the industry guidance on Alloy 600/82/182 butt welds (MRP-139).
- 2. Until all Alloy 600/82/182 Pressurizer butt welds are either mitigated or replaced, reports of future inspection results will be submitted to the NRC within 60 days of the end of the station refueling outage during which the inspection was performed.
This letter supplements Reference 1 in response to the NMC telecon with the NRC on February 23,2007. The MRP-139 guidance would have inspections performed on a five-year frequency. In the telecon, NMC agreed to change to an inspection frequency of every other refueling cycle (Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Unit 2 operating cycles are less than 24 months long.)
Summary of Commitments NMC revises commitments 1 and 2 of Reference 1 as follows:
- 1. Until all Alloy 600/82/182 Pressurizer butt welds are either mitigated or replaced, all Alloy 600/82/182 Pressurizer butt welds will be examined every other refueling cycle.
