Public Meeting with the Vermont State Legislature Date/Time: Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Location: 4th Floor Conference Room Pavilion Building 109 State Street Montpelier, Vermont 05633-5301
Purpose:
This is a briefing for the Vermont State Legislature to discuss the draft environmental impact report for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Plant license renewal application. The NRC report, known as the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement, was issued on December 13, 2006. The Vermont Legislature, which requested this meeting, will publicly notice the meeting in accordance with State requirements.

Participants from the NRC include members from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) and Region I (RI).

The NRC staff will be available after the meeting is adjourned to answer questions regarding the Vermont Yankee Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
