SUMMARY

OF CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JANUARY 4, 2007, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND WOLF CREEK NUCLEAR OPERATING CORPORATION, CONCERNING THE UPCOMING SCOPING AND SCREENING METHODOLOGY AUDIT The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) held a telephone conference call on January 4, 2007, regarding the upcoming scoping and screening methodology audit to be conducted at Wolf Creek Generating Station during the week of January 8, 2007.

The Enclosure shows a list of participants. During the telephone conference the following logistical items were discussed:

  • The applicant confirmed that the list of documents requested by the staff will be available, to the extent practicable, in hard copy. In addition, the staff requested that documentation for high pressure coolant injection, auxillary feedwater and auxiliary building be available.
  • The applicant was requested to confirm whether PI-01-08/06, Revision 3, is the only implementing procedure available. If not, additional implementing procedures should be made available. The applicant was informed that paper copies of large documents are not needed but should be readily accessible.
  • The staff requested access to the source documents current licensing basis for the systems and structures named above.
  • The applicant was requested to confirm whether laptops are allowed on site for word processing purposes. In addition, the applicant was informed that the staff will not be needing access to the internet; however, a representative from WCNOC should be available to print necessary documents.
  • The applicant was informed that the entrance meeting will be at 9:00 am.
