Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Withdrawal of License Amendment Application to Change Design Requirements for Tornado Missile Protection (License Amendment Request No. 04-0024; TAC No. MC5661)
Ladies and Gentlemen:
By letter dated January 11, 2005 (Serial Number 3078), the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) submitted License Amendment Request (LAR) 04-0024, an application for amendment of the Operating License for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS). The proposed amendment would change the facility as described in the DBNPS Updated Safety Analysis Report (USAR) to, modify the design requirements for protection from tornado missiles.
Due to technical issues identified during ongoing discussions with the NRC staff, FENOC requests that the January 11, 2005 license amendment application be withdrawn.
FENOC plans to resubmit the license amendment application at a later date., Commitment List, identifies that there are no commitments contained in this letter.
