The following issues were discussed during the telephone conference call:RAI 3.6.2.2-N-08-2 Electrical components for the Vernon Hydroelectric Station (VHS) include 2 black-start turbinegenerators, cables and buses for power transmission, instrumentation and control components and their associated cables and connections. The staff did not agree with the applicant's methodologyused in those responses. The staff clarified its position on each issue during a December 6, 2006, conference call with the applicant. Following that December 6, 2006 call, the applicant formed an approach to respond to the RAIs. The applicant wanted to discuss its proposed revised responses with the staff prior to a formal submittal to avoid another round of potentially unsatisfactory responses to the RAIs. The staff listened to the applicant's proposed revisions but deferred comment until after having an internal discussion. The project manager is to call the applicant ro relay the staff's position on the proposed responses.
