NRC performance indicator (PI) data files for second and third quarters, 2006.

Dear Mr. Duncan,
440-280-5362 Fax 440280-8029 On November 16,2006, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company submitted a midquarter correction of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant NRC PI data files for the second and third quarters of 2006, This correction was required due to the revision of Probabilistic Risk Analysis data to correct an error in the previous calculations. Only MSPI NRC PIS were affected, and the second quarter 2006, PI for Emergency AC Power crossed the threshold from green to white. For the third quarter, this PI returned to green.
Condition Report 06-10069 was initiated to address the white Emergency AC Power PI and a root cause team is investigating the issue. Results of the root cause team activities are currently scheduled to support NRC Inspection Procedure 95001 activities in early January 2007.
