DPR-37 VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNIT 2 STEAM GENERATOR TUBE PLUGGING REPORT Virginia Electric and Power Company conducted planned eddy current inspections on the "A" steam generator during the Surry Unit 2 fall 2006 refueling outage.

In accordance with Surry Power Station Technical Specification 4.19.F.a, this letter provides notification of the number of steam generator tubes that were plugged during the outage. As indicated in the table below, a total of four tubes were plugged in the "A" steam generator. Three (3) tubes were plugged as a result of volumetric indications at the cold leg top of tubesheet that were caused by a foreign object(s). A fourth tube was plugged due to an indication at the tube end. Tube plugging decisions were based on a depth sizing technique that is conservative for the flaws in question (i.e., Revision 6 of the EPRl Guidelines, Appendix H, technique # 21998.1). The indications were also sized using a separate technique (i.e., technique # 96910.1), which, although still conservative, is considered a more accurate sizing technique based on the length of these indications. Depth estimates obtained from both techniques are provided in the table below.
