Dear Mr. Dacimo:

We have received and reviewed your letters of October 18 and 20, 2006, which document your commitments to improve the reliability of the Indian Point Public Alert Notification System (ANS). These actions had been previously discussed at a meeting between Entergy and the NRC that was open for public observation on October 6, 2006. We acknowledge your commitments and will continue to provide enhanced inspection oversight of your actions to maintain the ANS as described in our letter to you dated November 23, 2005.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of the NRC document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html Should you have any questions regarding this report, please contact Mr. Raymond Lorson of my staff at 610-337-5282.
