BYRON STATION, UNIT NO. 1 - EXIGENT AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NO. MD3382)

The purpose of this memorandum is inform you that on October 30, 2006, Mr. Darin Benyak of Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon), notified me via telecon, as the assigned Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) project manager for Byron Station, Unit No. 1 (Byron),

that Exelon would not need an exigent amendment to modify the operating license for Byron.

The NRC staff had been discussing the need for the exigent amendment with Exelon and had opened TAC No. MD3382 to perform a pre-application review of the change. With this notification, the NRC staffs work is complete and TAC No. MD3382 will be closed.
