RESAMPLE OF MONITORING WELL MW-48 ON FRIDAY-JUNE 9,2006 Jay and Don:

Per your direction a split NRC/IPEC sample was taken today of MW-48 and the adjacent waterfront.

Mr. Greg Bowman of the USNRC witnessed the sample process and has in his possession:

• 1 gal MW-48 well water from 23' depth

• 1 gal MW-48 well water from 38' depth

• 1 gal of adjacent Hudson River water (used as a comparison sample)

IPEC has in their possession from MW-48:

• 2 gal MW-48 well water from 23' depth

• 2 gal MW-48 well water from 38' depth

• 1 gallon of adjacent Hudson River water (used as a comparison sample)

Additionally IPEC took smaller sample volumes ( 1 liter) from MW-48 at both well depths (23' and 38', and the Hudson River). These were turned into IPEC Chemistry for quick turnaround gamma and tritium analysis. It is expected the results may be available late Mon or Tuesday. The.se results will be in advance of either Teledyne or Fitzpatrick results.

Also in attendance at MW-48 was Dr. David Winslow, site GZA hydrologist, and Sara Covelli of GZA, plus the NEM sample personnel Jay Colvi!le and Damian Budds.

Note:

If the State of New York requests a split sample it would be possible to split the NRC sample with the State, if it meets the State's sample volume requirements. If not with the NRC team here next week, additional samples. if required for the State can be obtained.
