Re: Fwd: Unexpected increase in radionuclide concentractions in MW-42 Jim - I know they were moving to low flow sampling in MW 42. If this sample was the first low flow sample, as I believe it was), the increase is most likely an artefact of the new sampling method. In fact, I recommended that they do both low flow and their historical sampling method for at least the first low flow round to avoid this very situation.

Dear hydrologist group,

We received sample results from MW-42 (next to the North Curtain Drain of Unit 1) from April 7th samples that showed radionuclide increases of 3-100 times higher than 2 weeks before. Also uranium was detected at slightly higher than normal background levels (may still be naturally occurring). With the Unit 1 SFP system being a passive leakage/drainage groundwater system, what questions should we ask the licensee to explain this phenomenon? Your thoughts...

By-the-way, Entergy has not yet received GZA's Interim Hydrology report. They apparently missed the June 1st deadline. Entergy promised to make it available to us as soon as they receive it.

Regards, Jim CQ
