Second Quarter 2006 - Update of Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL) Commitments
Dear Mr. Caldwell,
In your letter dated September 28, 2005, which transmitted the CAL commitments, you requested First Energy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC). to provide quarterly updates for any completed commitments. This letter provides the requested update for the second quarter of 2006. No commitments were scheduled to be completed and none were completed during this period. As discussed at the July 11, 2006 public meeting, FENOC has one remaining CAL commitment to complete. The remaining commitment is to perform a self-assessment to evaluate overall health of the Corrective Action Program by end of fourth quarter, 2006. The self-assessment is currently scheduled to be completed during the third quarter, 2006. The attached table depicts those commitment items completed to date as well as the remaining commitment.
There are no additional commitments contained in this letter. FENOC will continue to update you on our progress on a quarterly basis per your request.
