Dear Sir:

Subject:

Salem Generating Station Units I and 2 Docket Nos. 50-272 and 50-311 License Change Request S06-05 Request for Change to Technical Specifications Elimination of the Requirements for Hydrogen Recombiners and Hydrogen Analyzers Using the Consolidated Line Item Improvement Process PSEG Nuclear LLC submitted the proposed change to the Salem Technical Specifications by letter to the NRC dated June 7, 2006. The proposed amendment would eliminate the requirements for hydrogen recombiners and hydrogen analyzers. These changes are consistent with Revision 1 of the NRC approved Industry/Technical Specification Task Force (TSTF) Standard Technical Specification (STS) Change Traveler, TSTF-447, "Elimination of Hydrogen Recombiners and Change to Hydrogen and Oxygen Monitors". The availability of this technical specification improvement was announced in the Federal Register on September 25, 2003, as part of the Consolidated Line Item Improvement Process.

The BNE has no comments on the proposed change. If you need to discuss this subject further, please contact Elliot Rosenfeld at (609) 984-7548.
