Re: PSEG Dave, I appreciate your timely response.

I have briefly read the extensive letter and will get back to you with specific comments. Overall, it is on target. There are a few factual matters for me to correct/clarify.

I remain confident in the NRC's attention to concerns I have raised.

Thank you, Kymn In a message dated 10/28/2003 8:42:39 AM Eastern Standard Time, DJV@nrc.gov writes:

Kymn, I received this and your other e-mails from over the weekend. I have provided your comments about the OSHA recordables and the comment in the e-mail about the rollout of the "standdown "meeting to the people who are taking part in the SCWE review.

I have provided appropriate technical staff with the information about the recent Notification written on SORC member training. Please understand that we don't normally'process such items through the NRC Allegation Process, as the resident inspectors are made aware of recently submitted Notifications on a routine basis. It is our expectation that conditions potentially adverse to quality be identified, documented, and processed via an established corrective action program, which appears to be what has been done in this instance. If the individual who provided you the information feels or knows that this matter will not be addressed appropriately within the CAP, we would consider such an assertion as an allegation, and process it accordingly. As indicated in your e-mail, the individual may speak with me or the redidenis, if that have such a concern.

Per your request, an electronic version of our acknowledgment letter which was sent to you via Certified Mail, is attached. This represents our understanding of the concerns you provided. It's rather extensive, so please contact me with any questions.
