Dear Mr. Klein and Ms. Schmidt:

I join my voice to these concerned citizens who continue to express outrage that the nuclear power industry, including the federal government, still lacks a permanent solution to the spent fuel issue. Whether the federal government under the strictest control and oversight maintains a reprocessing plant; or the Yucca Mountain storage plan comes to fruition, a long term remedy is needed, and in the near future.

PECO Exelon has a good track record of operating the Limerick Nuclear Power Plant in Montgomery County, PA. Faced with the storage of spent fuel rods issue, PECO Exelon is planning to store same in dry cast storage on site. I and residents are concerned over the terrorist/safety issue of the present plan. I know PECO Exelon will work hard to secure same, yet I believe an added measure of security must be included in the plan for the site. The placement of earthen berms in the area of the storage site is a sound addition to the safety feature.of the plan, affording an added measure of security to the project.

Please consider the request for earthen berms as plans continue to progress. I believe the state of Maine required the construction of berms for a similar project. We need to take every available precautionary measure when planning the construction of dry cast storage bunkers including safeguards against possible acts of terrorism. Thank you for your consideration in this important matter.
