PSEG update Eileen and Dave, I received word tonight that PSEG Nuclear has received "preliminary" results from the SCWE survey conducted by Synergy Consulting.

The lead person from Synergy, speaking with a group of PSEG employees, was quoted as saying PSEG's results are the worst they've seen from any of the 42 nuclear sites they have worked at.

Gallup, the polling organization, conducted surveys at PSEG for several years you may recall and reported similar results. That tells me things have not improved, despite management changes and anything else the company wants to cite.

To people who have been at Salem/Hope Creek for a long time, this looks like another 'flavor of the month' unworthy of their support. The company has selected 40+ people to participate on "survey response teams." When I look over the list of names, I find some people already cited to the NRC as being "problems," at least one person who lied when the NRC interviewed him, and most of the others are "nice company people" who, for one reason or another, are not assertive or outspoken. They are followers, not leaders. I also notice that few Union people are involved and hardly anyone who has been publicly vocal about safety issues.

Unfortunately, all this has fed my concern that this looks like, feels like, tastes like another "whitewash" in the making. Please encourage Hub, Randy, the Residents, inspectors, and appropriate others to monitor this closely. The people of PSEG Nuclear deserve genuine, committed action not another charade.

Thank you.
