LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - WITHDRAWAL OF LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. MD0360 AND MD0361)
Dear Mr. Crane:
By letter dated March 15, 2006, as supplemented by letters dated May 10 and June 1, 2006, you applied for an amendment to the LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2, Facility Operating Licenses NPF-11 and NPF-18, respectively. The proposed change would have revised the licensing basis to allow ganged rod drive capability of the rod control management system.
Subsequently, by letter dated July 31, 2006, you withdrew the license amendment request (LAR), and indicated your intentions to resubmit an LAR at a later date.
The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the above cited application is being treated as withdrawn. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment has not been published in the Federal Register.
Due to the unique nature of the LAR, the NRC staff has suggested a public, pre-application meeting with you to discuss the technical aspects of the request and to identify the specific scope and level of detail of information needed prior to resubmitting the LAR. The date of the public meeting has been tentatively scheduled for September 19, 2006.
