Fwd: Re: Your questions on SCWE This replies to David's email of yesterday regarding Lisamarie's questions. I had replied to the questions and cc'd all of you on April 26. She chose to reply to only me, and I chose not to bother all of you with her reply, which is now attached.

Lisamnarie - Regarding aspects of the SCWE approach which were unfamiliar, Mel Gray knew of the terms and provided the following insights.

"[PSEG] Power Behaviors" represent the performance standards \\ personnel behaviors which had been issued by Frank Cassidy, President of PSEG Power, organizational president of PSEG Nuclear. As the behaviors were issued prior to our Jan. 28 letter, the behaviors are being modified in light of the SCWE concerns, e.g., "bring your supervisors problems and proposed solutions" is being changed to drop the proposed solutions and its discouraging aspect.

The "Executive Protocol Committee" is currently the three VPs (Brothers, Carlin, and Garchow), who are now in line to review any proposed disciplinary actions to ensure that the actions are properly based on performance and do not involve any retaliation or discrimination. There may be other SCWE functions the committee is planning to undertake.

Mr. Brothers e-mailed me this week to follow up on a question I asked at the public meeting, concerning their plan to address the many assessments they were doing of their work environment and Safety Culture.

It still doesn't really address the question (What elements/attributes do each of the assessments cover and where do they overlap, compliment each other, etc?), but there are some good initiatives outline in here.

He refers to two things I am not familiar with. Do you know what the "Power Behaviors" are and the "Executive Protocol Committee"?

Please forward this to whomever you believe will benefit from it.
