r MAY 10, 2006 STATE AND NRC SHORELINE SEDIMENT SAMPLING AT IPEC SAMPLE TYPE: SHORELINE SEDIMENT SAMPLE DATE: MAY 10, 2006 MEETING TIME: 1100 am ASSEMBLE AREA: IPEC Emergency Op's Center (EOF) Parking Lot BOAT DEPARTURE: 1200 (noon)

On Wed May 10, 2006 at 1200 noon, the Indian Point sampling boat will be available for the State of New York and NRC to perform shoreline sediment sampling as part of the IPEC groundwater investigation.

An JPEC representative will meet the State and NRC sampling participants at the Indian Point Emergency Operations Center (EOF) parking lot on May 10, 2006, between 1100-1130 am.

This meeting area does not require Plant Access badging.

Once assembled IPEC will provide andescort to the boat departure area for a 1200 noon boat departure. This time is chosen based on tide restrictions for shoreline sampling.

For the safety of this evolution the IPEC sampling boat can accommodate one NRC and one State sample representative, plus the IPEC boat driver and boat assistant.

Unless there is a particular need for special regulatory sampling equipment the plan will be to use IPEC sample collection tools (shovels etc). IPEC will have wide mouth sample bottles available for participants that are used in the IPEC sampling program. However if either agency has some special container need (certain minimum volumes or geometries), please provide those items as needed.

RESCHEDULE DATE IF NEEDED:

If it appears on May 9, 2006 (the day before the planned date) the predicted weather will not support a May 10 sample date (high wind/rain) this exercise will be rescheduled for the next day (May 11, 2006) with the meeting times, and boat departure times the same. IPEC will contact each regulatory agency on May 9, 2006 to coofirm the trip is still on.

If you have any questions call: Ron Sachatello at 860-857-4980 or email: rsach90@entergy.com.
