MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - CATEGORY 1 MEETING WITH TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY RE. BROWNS FERRY UNIT 1 RECOVERY STATUS -

Dear Mr. Singer:
This letter confirms my conversations with Mr. Masoud Bajestani of your staff on July 6, 2006, concerning a management meeting, Public Meeting Category 1, scheduled for August 3, 2006, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm CDT. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss TVAs Browns Ferry Unit 1 Restart Status and is being conducted by our mutual agreement. The location of this meeting will be at Calhoun Community College, 6250 U.S. Hwy. 31 North, Tanner, Alabama.
The meeting will be an open meeting (Category 1 meetings invite public observation, but provide opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion of the meeting) in accordance with "NRCs Policy Statement for Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings,"
May 28, 2002 (Federal Register Volume 67, Number 102, Pages 36920-36924). The meeting notice which provides additional details is enclosed.
The agenda for the meeting is to discuss the status of the Unit 1 recovery efforts including completed work activities, schedules for future milestones, response to challenges, closure of restart items, and other activities important to NRC oversight and inspection regarding Unit 1.
Mr. Byron and I discussed our tentative understanding that the following individuals are planning on attending:
