REGION III ENGINEERING TOPICS MEETING
Dear Mr. Crane:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region III office is pleased to invite representatives from your engineering organization to attend a 1-day, engineering-focused meeting on Wednesday, August 2, 2006, beginning at 8:00 am CT. The meeting will be held at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville located at 3003 Corporate West Drive in Lisle, Illinois near the NRC Region III office. The hotel phone number is (630) 505-0900. This meeting is open to the public.
The purpose of this meeting is to exchange information related to recent changes in the scope and performance of engineering-based NRC inspections at your facility. The meeting will provide an opportunity for open discussion between Region III and licensee engineering managers regarding topics of mutual interest. The expected outcome is a better understanding how recent changes in engineering inspections may impact your facilitys preparation for these inspections as well as how risk insights are incorporated into regulatory applications. A draft agenda is attached.
The target audience is engineering managers who are involved in the preparation for, and support of, engineering focused inspections. We hope that your staff will be able to attend this meeting. Regulatory information exchange meetings like this are important and I hope that we will have many more opportunities for such interactions. My point of contact for this meeting is Ann Marie Stone, who can be reached at 630-829-9729, or by e-mail at AMS1@nrc.gov.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document

SUBJECT:
REGION III ENGINEERING TOPICS MEETING
Dear Mr. Palmisano,
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region III office is pleased to invite representatives from your engineering organization to attend a 1-day, engineering-focused meeting on Wednesday, August 2, 2006, beginning at 8:00 am CT.
T. Palmisano Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS), accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
Sincerely,
/RA/
