Greetings, We are in the process of developing an update to the Braidwood Preliminary Notification. The purpose of this update is to provide NRC independent sample results, which have validated the accuracy of the licensee's measurements. Additionally, the PN will include the results from deeper wells (25' deep) that have been in the range of 220,000 - 285,000 picoCuries per litter of tritium (offsite and onsite, respectively). We are hopeful to have the PN in final form this afternoon.
The licensee is finalizing its schedule of meeting for next week:
- Monday, January 23 with the State of Illinois EPA, etc.
- Thursday, January 26 with the nearby residents oI-F I
1, Members of the Region III staff plan to attend both meetings.
