Draft revision of IP 71122.01 for informal Regional comment Gentlemen:
Attached you will find the first draft, for the proposed revision to Inspection Procedure, IP 71122.01 "Radioactive Gaseous and Liquid Treatment and Monitoring Systems." We decided that the best place to make the change to the Public Radiation Safety Cornerstone, in response to recent spills, leaks or unusual occurrences, was in this IP (Effluents), vice IP 71122.03, (REMP).
The desired pathway for staff comments would be back through you (the branch chief), with only one document from each region. We would like to have your comments back in as timely as manner as possible, as this issue is gaining the increased attention of senior NRC management, as well as the general public.
This draft revision will also be included as a topic for the February HP counterpart call.
