Nearby residential wells (southwest otalta Pon have not shown any tritium above normal background. However, the licensee detea d elevated levels of tritium (as high as approximately 33,700 picocuries/L) in monitoring wells in a vacant development immediately offsite. The licensee continues to monitor and to develop plans for remediation, with Region Ill inspection oversight. Region Ill has also sent split samples from some offsite wells to the NRC' s contract laboratory for indePendent analysis and has arranged for independent NRC sampling of some residential wells.
