Re: Fwd: Update braidwood Randy/John, You are correct, the numbers in the PN are accurate. The licensee has measured tritium at levels near 225,000 - 250,000 picoCuries per liter in deep (25 foot) wells both onsite and offsite. Region Ill has independent measurements validating these results. These levels are about 10 times the EPA drinking water standard. However, they still represent an ingestion dose that is less than 10 CFR Part 20 limits for members of the public (which includes 40 CFR Part 190 limits). At this point, the levels are measured strictly in groundwater wells. Only one residential drinking water well has shown positive for tritium (about 1500 picoCuries per liter).
Our inspection of the issue is ongoing, as is the licensee's potential pathway analysis and development of mitigation strategies.

this looks like very large #'s for tritium in deeper wells offsite, over 10 times drimniking water std - am i reading it right?
