SUMMARY
OF THE JUNE 14, 2006, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE QUAD CITIES END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On June 14, 2006, a public meeting was held at the Best Western Steeplegate Inn in Davenport, IA, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station management and staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of the performance of the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, for the period of January 1, 2005, through December 31, 2005.
The NRC presentation provided an overall assessment of the Quad Cities Stations performance as described in NRCs Annual Assessment Letter - Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, dated March 2, 2006, (reference ADAMS accession number ML061300471). The Quad Cities Station, Units 1 and 2, operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety and fully met all cornerstone objectives.
Mr. Tim Tulon, Quad Cities Site Vice President, responded on behalf of the licensee and Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station. Mr. Tulon provided an overview of the Extended Power Uprate (EPU) and the stations efforts to resolve the vibration related equipment issues that resulted from that uprate. In addition, Mr. Tulon discussed the stations plans for continued reduction of worker radiation exposure going forward.
The meeting notice and NRC presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML061300309 and ML061670321, respectively. A copy of Mr. Tulons presentation can also be found in ADAMS as ML061670325. A list of meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure.
