June 23, 2006 Mr. Christopher M. Crane, President and Chief Nuclear Officer Exelon Generation Company, LLC 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555

SUBJECT:

LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF RESPONSE DATE ASSOCIATED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RELATED TO DIRECT CURRENT ELECTRICAL POWER (TAC NOS. MC5771 AND MC5772 )

Dear Mr. Crane:

By letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated June 20, 2006, Exelon Generation Company, LLC requested an extension of the response date from 30 days to 75 days associated with the request for additional information (RAI) related to your technical specifications change, for direct current electrical power, for the LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2.

The NRC staff had requested this additional information in order to review your submittal and complete its review. The specific information was requested to be provided within 30 days from the date of the RAI request, dated June 2, 2006. Since the initial RAI was issued, a technical specification task force (TSTF) working group has been scheduled to meet with the NRC staff addressing TSTF-360, Direct Current (DC) Electrical Rewrite, currently scheduled for July 12, 2006. In view of the fact that the meeting of the TSTF working group is after the 30 day response time, and the RAI is directly related to TSTF-360, the NRC staff has accepted your request to extend the time for response from 30 days to 75 days.

The NRC staff considers that timely responses to requests for additional information help ensure sufficient time is available for staff review and contribute toward the NRCs goal of efficient and effective use of staff resources. If circumstances result in the need to further revise the requested response date, please contact me at (301) 415-3154.

Sincerely,

/RA/
