Steven Orth Jan Strasma Mon, Jan 9, 2006 3:09 PM Telephone Call from Braidwood Nearby Resident
- Jan, I just had a telephone conversation with one of the nearby residents hose well was, s arneple h licensee and us. Although nothing above backgroundrwas measured in his well and" ell, he has become very concerned by the "negligence" and "'criminal actions" of the licensee andithe potential for this issue to affect his family's health. In addition, he also voiced a concern over land and property values, as a result of the spills and leakage from the station. Although he appreciated our sampling, he was concerned over the absence of sampling over the 7 or 8 years between the leakage and now.
I indicated that the NRC inspection activities were ongoing and that no final conclusions have been reached concerning any regulatory violations or issues. We are continuing to evaluate sample results and hydrology from the area to fully assess the extent and impact of the leakage.

I attempted to reassure him that the samples from his well and elI did not result in
.any tritium above normal background levels. In most cases, no tritium was detected at all.
I'm certain that there will be more to follow.
