Update: Recent Braidwood Groundwater Sample Results Greetings, Attached are some current sample results from the licensee.
As was likely expected, tritium was detected in the vacant development north of the Owner Controlled area. Based on discussions with the licensee, they intend to provide additional.monitoring wells further north to continue to characterize the plume. Additionally, they are working with Illinois EPA to gain approval of the remediation plan -
i.e., pumping groundwater from the four remediation wells.
Region ill has provided samples to the NRC laboratory (ORISE) and is expecting results late this week or early next week. Unfortunately, these samples do not include the residential wells, which will be forwarded to the lab today or tomorrow.
