Dear Mr. Koehl:

By letter dated June 8, 2006, as supplemented by letter dated September 11, 2006, Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC), responded to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

Generic Letter 2006-03, Potentially Nonconforming Hemyc and MT Fire Barrier Configurations. Under oath or affirmation, you stated that Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, do not rely on either the Hemyc or MT fire barrier system. You submitted documentation under oath or affirmation that other 1 or 3-hour fire barrier material that separates redundant safe shutdown trains located within the same fire area has been designed and installed in accordance with (1) current NRC guidance or (2) industry fire standards available prior to issuance of NRC Generic Letter 86-10, Supplement 1.
