PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES FOR THE KEWAUNEE POWER STATION
Dear Mr. Christian:
This letter confirms the plans discussed between Ms. Leslie Hartz of your staff and me to have a meeting between representatives of Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc., and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. (CDT) on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the Region III Office of the NRC, 2443 Warrenville Road, Suite 210, Lisle, Illinois 60532. The meeting is open to the public and there will be an opportunity for the public to speak with NRC representatives before the meeting is adjourned.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the progress in implementation of improvement initiatives at the Kewaunee Power Station. These initiatives are part of the Kewaunee Excellence Plan. The status of corrective actions from problems identified during the reactor shutdown on April 26 and the reactor startup on May 17 will also be discussed.
