Proposal submitted in response to the Commission's regulation requiring conversion of the OSTR from high enriched uranium (HEU) fuel to low enriched uranium (LEU)

Gentlemen:

In accordance with the Commission's regulation contained in 10 CFR 50.64, the Oregon State University Radiation Center has entered into negotiations with the U.S. Department of Energy for the conversion OSTR from HEU to LEU fuel. Although no funding has been released, the conversion is tentatively scheduled for the summer/fall of 2008 with initial funding for analysis in support of a revised safety analysis report to begin this summer.
