EDO Bullet: tritium updates Exelon Tritium Updates/information On February 16, 2006, HO and Rill management and staff briefed Congressman Weller and members of his staff on the status of the Exelon tritium issues. NRC staff updated the congressman on the technical and radiological details of the tritium releases, licensee activities to date, and NRC inspection and followup actions (both taken and planned) in response to the issue. The congressman was particularly interested in independent NRC sampling activities and indicated a potential forthcoming request for NRC attendance at a future meeting planned with local county officials.

Additionally, on February 15, 2006, Exelon Nuclear issued a press release describing utility inspections initiated in response to the identified tritium releases. The utility press release discussed efforts planned at all 10 of its nuclear plants. Also on February 15, 2006, the NRC issued PNO- RlII-06-004 (

SUBJECT:

"Tritium Leakage") which provided an update on the matter with respect to Dresden and Byron activities.
