SUBJECT:
WATTS BAR EMERGENCY EXERCISE (June 7, 2006)
The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you of the Region II plans for the Watts Bar Emergency Exercise. The exercise will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, and there will be no Post Plume Phase activities related to this exercise. For the exercise, Region II will participate with a Base Team and a Site Team. Headquarters will not participate. The State of Tennessee will be fully participating and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct an evaluation of the State and local agencies that are involved.
Enclosed is a listing of the Region II Site Team position assignments. All of the participants listed on the enclosures have been personally contacted to ensure that there is not a schedule conflict. However, if a conflict should develop, please let Jim Hufham know, as soon as possible.
In preparation for the exercise, all participants should attend the TVA Watts Bar Exercise Briefing on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. This briefing will be provided by TVA representatives and will be at 10:30 a.m., in the main conference room. Additionally all participants will receive a Team Position Briefing. If you are unable to attend the TVA briefing, copies of the handout material will be provided to you prior to the exercise dates.
Since the Site Team will participate from the TVA Central Emergency Control Center (CECC) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, most of the participants will drive to Chattanooga on the morning of June 7, 2006, and return that afternoon.
