MONITORING WELL STATUS DECEMBER 22,2005

<<MON ITORING WELL STATUS.doc>>

Recent Progress:

  • MW-31 Completed
  • MW-32 Pilot casing grouted and drilling to begin this morning ( December 22, 2005)
  • Finished sampling all Transformer Yard and River Front Storm Drains (including 2 Storm Drains near MOB as part of this system)

Received tritium results from:

  • MW-33 199,000 pCi/L
  • MW-34 121,000 pCi/L
  • MW-35 76,000 pCi/L
  • MW-111 192,000 pCVL
  • Discharge Canal <MDA Held Conference Call with Stakeholders yesterday (Dec 21, 2005)

Sent Storm Drain data per request to J. White (USNRC) after Stake-holder meeting

MONITORING WELL STATUS (Wed, Dec 21; 2005-1830 hrs)

Well Location Status Next Samples Sample Result Number Step Taken (Highest Historical Value)

MW-111 Transformer Yard Baseline Sample PT Current results 192,000 pCi/l (12/19/05) 302,000 pCi/l (11/04/05)

MW-30 U-2 SFB Developed well Raw Water: 399,000 pCi/l (11/23/05)

Adding casings to reach 80'el Packer test Water: 600,000 pCi/l (11/24/05)

MW-31 MOB side walk Completed Take Sample MW-32 U-2 SFB Alley Way Pilot casing grouted Begin drilling MW-33 Transformer Yard Well installed Sampled water 12/19/05, results: 199,000 pCi/l (12/19/05)

MW-34 Transformer Yard Well installed Sampled water 12/19/05, results: 121,000 pCi/l (12/19/05 MW-35 Transformer Yard Well installed Sampled water 12/19/05, results 76,000 pCi/l (12/19/05)

MW-36 U-2 Turbine Bldg Re-locating drill location Get ground penetrating radar results MW-37 U-2 Turbine Bldg Re-locating drill location Get ground penetrating radar results MW-38 South U-3 Boundary Well in service Continue periodic sampling < 1000 pCi/l (MDA)

Using IPEC counting Storm Drain # 6 Transformer Yard 84' from MW-1 Sampled all Stohi Drains with 51,300 pCi/l (11/10/05)

MH-6 having highest activity: 37,100 pCi/1 (12/08/05) 12,200 pCi/l (12/16/05)

Note 1: Opened and sampled MH-4A. Also sampled MH-1. Chemistry is counting samples now.

Note 2: Monitoring Wells 33 and 34 are now close in activity value to MW-11l with MW-33 exceeding it currently. This is not unexpected.
