2.0 PRECAUTIONS 2.1 Mix the sample thoroughly prior to performing test.

2.2 Keep in mind what your sample consists of and take all appropriate precautions to prevent personnel contamination.

3.0 MATERIALS 3.1 Imhoff cone or equivalent 4.0 TEST STAND QUALITYCONTROL 4.1 Calibrations arc not applicable to this procedure.

4.2 Calibration checks are not applicable to this procedure.

5.0 INSTRUCTIONS 5.1 Pour 1000 ml of sample from the aeration chamber of the sewage treatment plant into an Imrhoff cone or equivalent.

5.2 Allow to settle for approximately 1 hour1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br />.

5.3 Observe the volume of sludge. Obtain the percentage of settleable solids by dividing the sludge volume by 10.

5.4 Record results on the appropriate data sheet.
