IPEC status report for November 14 Indian Point Energy Center

I Xin__Whit-e - -IPE'C s~t'a u~s report for No-ve~mber 1-4 Page2i Pace 211 IJohnWhite-iPECstaus recort for November14 Daily Status Report November 14, 2005 Operatic nal Status Indian Point Unit 2 is operating at 100% and has been online 345 days.

Indian Point Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 41 days.

Spent Fuel Pool Investigation Entergy is continuing the investigation into a leak from a small hairline crack in the 1P2 spent fuel pool.

Last week a diver was in the spent fuel pool to install a vacuum box over two areas where potential flaws were identified as part of the spent fuel pool liner inspection. No leakage was detected in this test. Later this wee< a second dive evolution will be performed near the third area where a small potential flaw was identified in a video inspection of the liner.

The NRCP is continuing its special inspection on the spent fuel pool issue and is continuing conference calls to brief stakeholders.

Entergy to Test Sirens on Tuesday Entergy, the owner of the Indian Point Energy Center, will conduct two full-volume tests of the emergency alert notification sirens in Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Putnam counties on Tuesday, Nov. 15 between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. WHUD Radio (100.7 FM) will perform a test of the Emergency Alert System immediately following the second siren test.

During the two tests, all 156 sirens will sound simultaneously for approximately four minutes. The sirens will begin at low volume and rapidly rise to full volume.

NO RESPONSE ON THE PART OF THE PUBLIC IS NECESSARY DURING THE NOV. 15 TESTS.

During an emergency at Indian Point, the counties would sound all 156 sirens simultaneously for four minutes at full volume, alerting the public to tune to their local Emergency Alert System (EAS) radio or TV station for important information. Sounding the sirens is a signal for residents to listen to Emergency Alert System broadcasts for important information.
