'ie ,rertfrNvm r4Pae21 Daily Status Report November 4, 2005 Operational Status Indian Point Unit 2 is operating at 100% and has been online 335 days.
Indian Point Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 31 days. Power level was decreased briefly this afternoon to conduct a stop valve test on the turbine. Operations crews are performing routine tests, maintenance and surveillances.
Entergy is continuing the investigation into a leak in the IP2 spent fuel pool. Experts in hydrology and ground water modeling have been hired to assist in the investigation. Next week, new monitoring wells are scheduled to be dug near the spent fuel building as part of the hydrology investigation and divers will be in the spent fuel pool as part of the spent fuel pool liner inspection.
NRC InsDections at Indian Point The NRC is continuing its special inspection on the spent fuel pool issue and is continuing its conference calls to brief stakeholders.
The NRC was on site this week to conduct an inspection on the emergency plan. The NRC will hold a public hearing on the new requirements for siren on November 16.
An NRC inspection team concluded their first week of a safety systems inspection. They focused on the Unit 3 component cooling water system and safety injection system. The NRC Team will return on November 14 through 18 to complete the inspection.
