IP Stakeholder Confrence call summary Bottom Line: Representatives from NYSERDA, NY SEMO, NYDEC, NY Dept. of Health, Sen. Schumer, Sen. Clinton, Rep. Lowey, Westchester EP, Orange Co. EP were briefed first by Entergy and then by the NRC.
Summary Don Leach of Entergy communicated that the 3 SFP liner flaws are going to be further examined and then vacuum box tested by divers in the pool. Thus far 9 monitoring wells are planned with additional wells likely. No new isotopes have been discoverd, but Entergy sampling did confirm that Sr was not in MW-1 11. Unit 1 fuel cleaning continues.
John White informed the stakeholders that the SIT leader is currently onsite and the team will continue to verify and question Entergy's evaluations and plans. He informed them that there is no indication of hazard to the public or the environment. He informed them that NRC has put in place extra inspeciton resources thru 2006 for the sirens and SFP via a deviation memo.
Next Step:
The next call with the stakeholders is planned for Nov. 17, 3:30pm, but new noteworthy info will be communicated sooner.
