Page i j Braidwood Groundwater Contamination (Update) -
As of December 12, 2005, NRC independent sample analysis results were beginning to be received from ORISE. The results received included split and/or licensee provided samples of 7 residential wells. The NRC analytical results were generally consistent with the licensee's results. A total of 59 water samples are being independently analyzed by ORISE, including 3 residential well samples which were collected by NRC, and the results are expected later this week.
The licensee has arranged a meeting with the nearby residents for Monday, December 12, 2005, at its Training Building. State representatives of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Department of Public Health are planning to attend. In addition, two members of the Region IlIl staff are also planning to attend. No media or other members of the public have been invited.
