I talked to Craig Nesbitt, Exelon's director of communications, this afternoon to let him know we would be updating the Preliminary Notification on Wednesday. I also told him that the PN would be provided to interested Congressonal staffs, and that afurther briefing of the staffs would be held next week. I also told him that we planned to offer to sample wells at the three residences to the west of the leak area and at the residence where measureable levels of tritium were found. He said he thought that would be helpful in providing further assurance to the residents.
Craig said that Exelon is planning to meet with the affected residents on Monday evening, December 12, at a location that is yet to be determined. State and county agencies will be invited to participate, and he said an NRC representative would be welcome as well. He will provide additional details when available.
He said he had received no further news media inquiries after the initial stories that appeared over the weekend. Craig said that he sent out the news releases Friday and followed up with the media outlets to make sure they had received the releases and to answer any questions.
