March 30, 2006 Mr. Rick A. Muench President and Chief Executive Officer Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation Post Office Box 411 Burlington, KS 66839
SUBJECT:
WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION - WITHDRAWAL OF RELIEF REQUEST NO. 3PR-04 (TAC NO. MC8211)
Dear Mr. Muench:
By letter dated August 23, 2005 (ET 05-0008), Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) proposed alternatives to the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code for Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants for the third 10-year inservice testing program interval at Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS). These alternatives were identified in the letter as Relief Requests (RRs) 3PR-01, 3PR-02, 3PR-03, 3PR-04, and 3VR-01. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission addressed RRs 3PR-01, 3PR-02, 3PR-03, and 3VR-01 in its letter to you dated March 21, 2006, and authorized these RRs for WCGS. This letter addresses the remaining RR 3PR-04.
In the WCNOC letter dated March 15, 2006 (ET 06-0013), RR 3PR-04 was withdrawn and a revised RR 3PR-04 was submitted. This letter closes out the review of RR 3PR-04 that was submitted in the letter dated August 23, 2005 (ET 05-0008), and the associated TAC No. MC8211. The new revised RR 3PR-04 will be addressed in a future letter.
Sincerely,
/RA/
