Dear Administrative Judges:
In the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boards Order (Scheduling Prehearing Conference Call) dated February 2, 2006, the Licensing Board directed the parties to submit (1) a list of possible locations for limited appearances and evidentiary hearings, and (2) a calendar for the period of July-October, showing dates on which the parties are not available for hearings due to prior significant commitments. In accordance with the Licensing Boards Order, the NRC Staff (Staff) herewith provides the following information.
1.
The Staff has limited familiarity with possible hearing locations near the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. One possible location may be the Quality Inn in Brattleboro, VT, where the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards has held its public meetings.
2.
A calendar for July-October 2006 is attached, showing dates on which the Staff is not available for hearings; for dates on which the Staff is available for some but not all issues, the calendar identifies the specific issues for which the Staff is not available. In addition, the calendar reflects the prior schedule commitments of the Vermont Department of Public Service (DPS), identified in Mr. Roismans letter to the Licensing Board dated March 7, 2006.
