Daily EDO Notes - R1 for 5/26/04 - - PSEG Scwe reports published pseg submitted three assessments related to the work enviromnment at salem / hope creek. They will be in ADAMS soon.
Although they are consistent with our interim results issued Jan28 (by 2-page letter) the stark detail of the PSEG reports (over 200 pages) is likely to flame renewed public or Congressional interest in the topic.
(For example, one of the assessments details fourteen events involving operational decision-making and unresolved conflicts within PSEG in the last few years.)
PSEG's outreach is apparently somewhat low-key, so it may be awhile before word filters out.
Enclosed is a summary and some briefing materials.
Our next steps are to review their submittal, compare their results to ours and decide how tD handle any differences, to meet with them June 16 to hear their Action Plan, then to decide what regulatory footprint to leave on this issue, and finalize a longer term followup plan. We do not intend to approve or endorse their plan; but instead to watch for results.
