Davis besse order Reply requested by 7/23/04 Jack & Christine, As i read it, the order requires not only annual cultural-type surveys, but also independent reviews of program effectiveness in Ops, CAP, Engr. These! effectiveness reviews go beyond what they could get from a Synergy-type survey. Am i reading it right? have they said yet what they actually planning?

i'm asking because the only thing independent that PSEG has committed to, so far, is a cultural assessment, and we think that's good, but it's not enuff of an independent look; we think they need at least one peer-type effectiveness review covering operational decision-making processes, and effectiveness of programs that feed equipment reliability (esp. CAP and work mgt in PSEG's case). This would be needed before we could back off from the heightened attn they will be receiving from NRC.
