FORT CALHOUN STATION, UNIT 1 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NO. MC9298)
Dear Mr. Ridenoure:
By letter dated December 19, 2005, Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) applied for an amendment to the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No. 1 (FCS), Facility Operating License No. DPR-40. The proposed change would have revised the FCSs Technical Specifications (TS) pertaining to TS 3.7(1)c.i, Emergency Power System Periodic Tests. Specifically, this proposed change would have revised the diesel generator surveillance test to reflect the removal of the anticipatory (idle speed) diesel generator start signals.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff determined that additional information is needed to complete the review. As a result of a teleconference, OPPD has decided to reevaluate the modification to remove the anticipatory diesel generator start signals. As such, the amendment is no longer needed at this time. Subsequently, by letter dated February 17, 2006, OPPD withdrew the amendment request.
The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above cited application is being treated as withdrawn. The Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment had not been published in the Federal Register.
