RI-2003-A-0110 - Note to File On December 8, 2003, several NRC employees listed below attended a meeting to discuss the details and contingency actions in preparation for the alleger being interviewed by "60 Minutes."
Prior to the meeting, the Deputy Regional Adminstrator (DRA) briefed the group on his expectations regarding the prepared Q&A's (both internal and external) and contingency actions to be taken if the alleger's interview does take place.
The DRA specifically requested that "plain language" be used in our communications and that we properly determine who would be the NRC Spokesperson.
Discussions and mark-ups were made to the attached that Glenn Meyer committed to revise and redistribute to meeting members. Some of the discussions included taking action to determine how we would handle requests for interviews, requests for NRC staff to be witnesses, as well as a description of of closed 01 cases with a brief description of the allegation topic. Revisions were made to ensure comprehensiveness and clarity as requested by the EDO also.
