MAINTENANCE OF REFERENCE MATERIAL AT THE PLYMOUTH PUBLICLIBRARY FOR THE PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION

Dear Ms. O'Brien:

This letter is a follow-up to my telephone conversation with Ms. Lee Regan of your staff onJanuary 19, 2006, concerning the maintenance of reference documents by your library. The subject documents are related to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff's reviewof the application by Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. for renewal of the operating license for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station for an additional 20 years. Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. submitted its application to the NRC on January 25, 2006. Over the approximately two-year review period, the volume of documents and related correspondence associated with the NRC's review is expected to fill less than two feet of shelfspace. A paper copy of the application has been provided to the Plymouth Public Library. An electronic version will also be made available at the NRC's Public Electronic Reading Room,accessible via the internet at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. We appreciate your willingness to assist the public in participating in the license renewal reviewprocess.
