REQUEST TO MODIFY THE MAILING LIST FOR LETTERS CONTAINING ALLEGATIONS-RELATED MATERIAL SENT TO SOUTHERN NUCLEAR OPERATING COMPANY, INC.
Dear Mr. Gasser:
In your letter, NL-05-1579, dated September 6, 2005, you requested that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) add your General Counsel and Vice President, Ms. Bentina C.
Terry, to the distribution list of all allegation-related correspondence sent to Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. We are sorry, but we cannot grant your request. In accordance with our internal guidance on handling allegations, allegation-related correspondence should be controlled and limited to personnel with a need to know. Consequently, the NRC staff believes it is incumbent upon the licensee to identify those licensee personnel that have a need to know, and provide them the information with the appropriate cautions about sharing information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
