OF THE DECEMBER 21, 2005, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE PALISADES REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL HEAD REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Dear Mr. Harden:
On December 21, 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), held a public meeting at the NRC Region III Office in Lisle, Illinois. The meeting was between the NRC staff and Nuclear Management Company management and staff, to discuss the Palisades reactor pressure vessel head replacement project. The meeting confirmation letter, meeting notice, and revised meeting notice, can be found in ADAMS as ML053060207, ML053060195 and ML053540152. A list of principal NRC and licensee meeting participants, as well as, the licensees presentation slides can be found in the attached enclosures. Several members of the public also monitored the meeting via conference call.
The Nuclear Management Company presented their plans for performing a replacement of the reactor pressure vessel head at the Palisades Nuclear Plant. At the conclusion of the meeting, time was allotted for public comments and questions.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room, or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system
